The Iowa State Athletic Training department will hold its annual summer camp in June 2016 for all students in grades 8-12 who are interested in athletic training. This year's camp will take place on the Iowa State University campus from June 9th through the 11th.
The Iowa State Athletic Training Camp is designed to give students a first-hand view of the athletic training profession. Much of the camp focuses on laboratory experiences in taping techniques and other areas of interest with regards to athletic health care clinical skills and education. There will also be lecture based educational sessions covering topics such as: Anatomy, Biomechanics, Injury Prevention, Concussion Education and more! Activities in camp will focus on the care of the athlete as a whole - from prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Camp activities will be held in two of the finest athletic training rooms in collegiate athletics. The newly renovated Feldman Athletic Health Care Center and the newly constructed Bergstrom Building Cyclone Athletic Health Care Center - both of these fine facilities are located at Jack Trice Stadium.
Staff for the camp include Iowa State staff athletic trainers Vic Miller and Nate Postma. Vic is in his 14th year with Iowa State and serves as the athletic trainer for the Iowa State Men's Basketball team. Nate is in his 9th year with Iowa State and serves as an athletic trainer for Cyclone Football.
